Those easily addicted by fun arcade games should look the other way as this World Cup themed new game hits the iOS and Android stores, and has proven hard to put down during tests at its UK development studio.
Brazil Soccer Tap is a short-burst game from Hippo Entertainment, run by industry veterans the Falcus brothers (Acclaim UK, Iguana, Team17).
The game sets the player 30 seconds to score as many points as possible by tapping the footballs with the correct flags on as a variety of other balls fall down the screen. Each correct tap adds a little onto the clock, but hit the wrong one and its game over.
“The aim of the game is to score as high as possible and prove to your friends that you have the most dexterous fingers” says producer Matt Falcus, who has been seen glued to the game in lines for coffee, sat on the train, or even during development meetings.
Brazil Soccer Tap is a free-to-play game with no in-app purchases, removing any barriers for soccer fans who need something to fill a the time between matches in this summer’s World Cup.
The app is available now on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Hippo Entertainment was founded by Darren, Jason and Matt Falcus in 2012. Veterans of numerous game development studios, including Acclaim, Iguana and Team17, Hippo focuses on mobile, PC and console game experiences using its experienced development team. Hippo has recently been working with Cinemaware on the successful Wings: Remastered Edition Kickstarter campaign, due out this summer.
